Invitation to an Online Seminar for Educators
School Life and Education Museum – IMMA

The School Life and Education Museum and the Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and Modern History of Macedonia (IMMA) invite primary and secondary education teachers to an open online educational seminar within the framework of the Network “Stories through Monuments: Learning Our Cultural Heritage,” with the participation of Education Directorates from across Greece.
Theme: Monuments and Educational Walks as Learning Tools
During the online seminar, presentations will be delivered by university academics, museologists, educators, historians, and authors. Participants will become familiar with rare information about the neoclassical buildings designed by Ernst Ziller, which constitute a significant legacy in Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as with the methodology of educational walks related to these buildings.
In addition, the scientific framework of educational programs aimed at utilizing cultural heritage through interdisciplinary approaches will be presented, along with best practices that transform monuments and city neighborhoods into living classrooms, and museums into spaces of creative encounter and experiential learning for the whole family.
