Overview of IMMA Activities at TIBF 2026

The Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia (IMMA) once again participated in the 22nd Thessaloniki International Book Fair (7–10 May 2026), presenting its publications and initiatives that promote historical knowledge and accessibility to culture.

A highlight of its participation was the presentation of the study “Senses in Dialogue: A Participatory Approach to Accessibility of the IMMA Collection”, carried out in collaboration with Off Stream and with the funding and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture – Directorate of Modern Cultural Heritage. The study highlighted the importance of a multisensory approach and inclusion in the museum experience.

At the same time, for the first time, a children’s reading corner operated at the IMMA stand, attracting the interest of many families and showcasing the Museum’s ongoing commitment to fostering a love of books through the weekly reading and creative writing workshops it organizes.

IMMA’s participation provided an important opportunity for outreach and networking with representatives from education and culture, student community organizations, and organizations for people with disabilities, reaffirming its commitment to a modern and accessible cultural experience for all.
