The initial exhibition in the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle was designed by Ioannis Mazarakis-Ainian. In 1990, it was completely redesigned by the famous set designer, George Anemogiannis. In 2009, thanks to the “Culture” Operational Programme, the Museum’s exhibition halls were renovated according to the “modern museum” concept and they were equipped with interactive applications.

The seven halls on the Museum’s ground floor exhibit the most important phases of the history of Macedonia in the 19th and early 20th century, as well as the social, economic, political and military developments that had a decisive influence on the future of Hellenism in the region.
