8th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art / “Yiannis and Miltos Manakia. People behind the lens”

“Yiannis and Miltos Manakia. People behind the lens” is the title of the new exhibition of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle that was inaugurated by the Under Secretary of Interior, responsible for the affairs of Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Stavros Kalafatis, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. The exhibition is part of the program of the 8th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, organized by MOMus, under the general title “Geoculture”.
The exhibition was curated by Mrs. Stavroula Mavrogeni, Director of the Research Centre for Macedonian History and Documentation (KEMIT) and Mrs. Fani Tsatsaia, Art Historian, PhD Candidate in Contemporary History AUTH, Director of the Foundation for the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia (ΙΜΜΑ). The periodical exhibiton presents for the first time to the public a large collection of photographs from the personal archive of Leonidas Manaki, son of Miltos Manaki, given to IMMA by the Honorary Ambassador Mr. Alexandros Mallias.
