The opening of the stand of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle (Stand 14, Stand 18) was held on Sunday, September 8th at 10:00 am by the Deputy Minister of Interior (Macedonia-Thrace), Mr. Theodoros Karaoglou.

Mr. Karaoglou was welcomed by the President of the Board of Directors of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle Foundation, Mr. Nikolaos Margaropoulos, the Director of the Museum, Ms. Fani Tsatsaia, members of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, as well as the President of the Friends of the Museum.

During his brief greeting, Mr. Karaoglou expressed his desire to expand the cooperation between the two institutions.

Mrs.Tsatsaia presented to Mr. Karaoglou the publication “Notebooks of Macedonian History and Culture”, which is a biannual publication of the Centre for Research on Macedonian History and Documentation (KEMIT) of the Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, where original studies on the history and culture of Macedonia are published.

The Museum of the Macedonian Struggle participates for the first time in the 84th HELEXPO, which takes place from 7-15 September at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre, presenting its publications and educational programmes for children of all educational levels.

The educational programmes of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle under the scientific supervision of KEMIT are certified by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and are based on the basic concept that the Museum is a place where history and culture are not only promoted, but also become an occasion for approaching interdisciplinary concepts such as history, memory, art, information, communication, multiculturalism and interaction.
