The first action of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for 2024 was a great success.

The Museum welcomed the New Year with an interactive tour of the exhibition ” Giannis and Miltos Manakia. The faces behind the lens“, which is one of its most successful temporary exhibitions. The main theme of the interactive tour was “The role of photography in the late 19th and early 20th century”. The participants had the opportunity to be guided by the curator of the exhibition, Mrs. Stavroula Mavrogeni, Professor at the University of Macedonia, Director of the Centre for Research in Macedonian History and Documentation (KEMIT), and to discover the work of the pioneering photographers and filmmakers, the Manakia brothers, placing them in the wider context of their time and unfolding the art of photography in the late 19th-early 20th century. The visitors were very interested and a number of questions and discussions followed. The tour concluded with the viewing of the documentary of the same name, produced by the filmmaker Akis Loukas, which was created exclusively for the needs of the exhibition.
