The Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia (IMMA), in the framework of the networking activities for the students of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programme in Tourism and Local Development of the AUTΗ (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), hosted the second day of events organized by the Director of the Interdepartmental Programme, Mrs. Roula Andreopoulou, on Saturday, February 17, in the “Alexandros Haitoglou” hall of the Museum.

The role of multimedia applications and virtual reality in tourism and the museum experience was discussed by the Director of the Interdepartmental Programme, while the Director of IMMA, Mrs.Athina Pavlidou presented the new digital era of the Museum of Macedonian Struggle and the prospects of interconnecting the work of the Postgraduate Programme with the activities of the Research Centre of IMMA and its digitized archival material. The presentations concluded with the presentation of the educational activities of IMMA and the promotion of the historical museum as a place of multiple actions for the promotion of the identity of Thessaloniki by Mrs. Katerina Tzavaras, Head of the Educational Programmes of IMMA.

This was followed by the traditional cake cutting and a discussion between the students and teachers of the programme with the staff and guests of the Museum.
