Sleepover… at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle!
Events 15 – 16 March 2019
On Friday 15 March 2019, the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle participates for the second time this year in the action “Sleepover – Overnight stay at the museum for children” organized by the “Department of Events & Festivals of the Directorate of Culture – Tourism” of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, hosting 20 children aged 9-12 years old.
This is one of the most modern museological practices, through which children from Thessaloniki and Northern Greece have the opportunity to get to know the Museums of the city by participating in selected museum educational programs and activities and experiencing the unique experience of an overnight stay in a museum space.
At the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, the action is supported by the Museum’s qualified staff through educational programmes and material-sensory activities that do not only focus on learning, but extend to issues of entertainment, inspiration and creativity, aiming to get to know the history of the Macedonian Struggle.
Children should have with them: sleeping bag, pillow, slippers, warm and comfortable clothes, toothbrush – toothpaste. Parents should have their police ID with them, as they will sign an affidavit for the participation of their children.
The program is offered free of charge and each child is only allowed to participate in one museum. Those interested can fill in the application form at the following link: https://opengov.thessaloniki.gr/opengov/museum/2019/
