Start of cooperation between the Museum of Macedonian Struggle and the Directorate of Secondary Education of Eastern Thessaloniki in the action “School – Art & Science Channel”

The Museum of the Macedonian Struggle (MMA) launches its cooperation with the Directorate of Secondary Education of Eastern Thessaloniki (D.D.E. An. Thessaloniki), participating in the framework of the program “The School, Channel of Art & Science” with educational and training activities. The project is carried out with the participation of students and teachers of the D.D.E. in the 399 approved School Activities Programmes (No. Prot. 24922/14-11-2022) in collaboration with the Heads of Cultural Affairs, Environmental Education and School Vocational Guidance (S.E.P.).
The aim of the programme is the intellectual cultivation of the students through their acquaintance and contact with various forms of art. The MMA, through its multifaceted educational and cultural activities, is an important link of communication and interaction with the educational community between the Museum and the School, having contributed to the promotion and creative approach to the history of Macedonia through the implementation of educational programmes for all school levels and its educational work.
Teachers and students participating in the School Activity Programmes during the current school year 2022-23 have the opportunity to take part in the following interactive educational programmes of the MMA as a reward for their exploratory work and voluntary educational activity. The projected available places for participation in educational tours, programmes, lectures and workshops will be updated quarterly on the Museum’s official website.
For the school year 2022-2023 and the months of March, April and May, school groups are offered places to participate in the following educational programmes:

For the educational tour of the temporary exhibition “Yannis and Miltos Manakia. The faces behind the lens” in the framework of the 8th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art (Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art) (25 students), on Wednesday, 15 March at 16.00-17.00 pm.
- For the educational Interactive tour of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the building (25 students), Wednesday, April 5 at 16.00-17.00 pm.
- For the educational programme “Thessaloniki: Transformations of a city” (20 students), on Wednesday, 31 May at 16.00-17.00 pm..

The request for the reservation of participation in the educational programmes is made exclusively by telephone to the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle (Secretariat phone number 2310229778) and to the person in charge of the programmes, Ms. Tzavara Aikaterini (IMMA Educational Programmes), during the hours 12.00 – 14.30 pm. (Monday – Friday).
To make a reservation, the name of the school, the name and telephone number of the teacher in charge, as well as the exact number of places requested are required.
Please note that the reservation is considered final only after it has been confirmed by the IMMA’s training programme manager. Places will be reserved on a strict first come, first served basis.
