On Friday, September 6, the cycle of IMMA’s autumn workshop entitled “In our own Museum… we bring the history of Macedonia to life” was completed.
With particular emotion and success, parents and friends of the children attended the established celebration at the end of the workshops. The children reenacted moments of the daily life of people in Macedonia in the 19th and early 20th centuries, by researching the historical sources of the Museum’s archive, the works of art of the periodical exhibition “Visual Approaches to the History of Macedonia, 19th-20th century” and the experiential actions of getting to know the natural environment of that era as well as the modern one. Pavlos Melas, as a symbol of bravery and self-sacrifice, inspired the young museophiles to write poems and letters but also to create short stories with the modern comic technique, about today’s concept of “hero”.

The workshop was sponsored the company Farma Koukakis SA. who offert children’s yogurts and juices for the children’s breakfast!

We extend our thank the external collaborators of the Museum, Thomas Dimos, Physical Education Professor and Tennis Coach, as well as Aphrodite Rizou, educator-storyteller and Dimitris Trakosa, illustrator / graphic designer for the sports activities and comics workshops, respectively.

Congratulations to all the children for the unique, original, projects they created and the truly entertaining and educational experiences we shared.

Happy school year everyone!
