Memorial Events for the 120th Anniversary of the Death of Pavlos Melas

Round Table Discussion

As part of the Memorial Events program organized by the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia Foundation (IMMA) for the 120th anniversary of the death of Pavlos Melas, a Round Table Discussion will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 6:00 PM, in the Auditorium of the Central Library of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with the participation of experts and professors from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Macedonia.

The goal of the event is to shed light on the hidden aspects of the Macedonian Struggle and the Macedonian Question in the early 20th century, as well as to highlight the significance of the death of the most emblematic Macedonian fighter. Topics to be discussed include the international context, developments in Greek society and politics, and the impact of the Macedonian Struggle in Bulgaria. The event will be greeted by the Rector of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Charalampos Feidas, and the Director of IMMA, Mrs. Athena Pavlidou.

Thematic Tours at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle Continue

In parallel, Thematic Tours on the life and actions of Pavlos Melas continue in November at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle. The interactive tours take place in the Museum’s permanent exhibition areas, utilizing the IMMA’s new digital applications, narrative video projections, and visits to the Museum’s Research Center. The tours focus on the room dedicated to Pavlos Melas, where unique personal items, photographs, and rich informational material are exhibited.
