The museums of Thessaloniki join forces to celebrate International Museum Day!
The Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki, together with the Museum of Nautical Sports, the Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and Modern History of Macedonia (IMMA), and the NOESIS Science Center & Technology Museum, come together in a joint cultural action, highlighting the strength of their longstanding collaboration and the richness of our cultural heritage.
For the first time, four distinguished museums of the city, with a common goal of deepening cultural identity and strengthening the role of museums as vital social pillars of development, form the pulse of the International Museum Day 2025, themed “Museums and societies in continuous transformation.” Inspired by the three thematic pillars of this year’s celebration — Intangible Cultural Heritage, Youth Empowerment, and New Technologies — they co-organize and present an original, multi-themed celebration.
A rich program of activities invites families and children to discover the magical world of culture through original educational programs, themed workshops, creative crafts, interactive games, art activities, and many more surprises!
Join us on Sunday, May 18th, at 18:30, with Free Admission

“Create Your Own Museum!”
IMMA invites you to a creative art and decoding workshop for children and adults alike!
Museums are living spaces where people and cultures meet. Young people and children share their own thoughts and ideas on the role of museums in a society of equality and inclusion.
Through photos and visual materials of the historic neoclassical building of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the history of Thessaloniki, children will be inspired to create their own messages for Museum Day, transcribe them using the “secret code” of the freedom fighters, and build their own original museum using recyclable materials!
Age group: Children of all ages.
