Traditions and Games!”
Christmas Art and Folklore Workshop at IMMA

On Saturday, December 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle will be transformed into a colorful creative workshop for children aged 5–12, featuring Christmas crafts, storytelling of traditional customs and fairy tales, theatrical activities, and digital games!

Art workshops with Christmas themes will take place in different rooms of the Museum, giving children the opportunity to choose and experiment with natural materials, recyclable packaging, and original painting techniques.
In the “Alexandros Haitoglou” Hall, young Museum Friends will watch a Christmas film, and together we will journey into the folk tradition of Macedonia through storytelling and video screenings that familiarize children with the rich folkloric heritage of our region.
Riddles are hidden in Christmas carols and festive objects throughout the rooms of the neoclassical building; digital routes featuring key figures from famous works of art lead to the solution of the mystery; and a Macedonian freedom fighter tries to teach the schoolboys and schoolgirls how to encode their wishes for world peace in a secret language!

As every year, at the end of the workshops, parents and friends of the Museum revive the custom of the Eiresione and welcome Christmas with carols and a theatrical presentation of the children’s creations!
