“Spring Embroideries, Threads and Fairy Tales!” Easter workshops for children aged 5–11 at IMMA

With great joy, we invite you to our Easter workshops titled:
“Spring Embroideries, Threads and Fairy Tales!”, which will take place at IMMA for children aged 5–11.

During the workshops, children will have the opportunity to explore folk art and tradition through creative activities inspired by Easter and spring. Guided by art, folklore, imagination, and play, they will discover traditional customs, create their own crafts, and travel into the world of fairy tales.

As part of the workshops, children will experiment with visual art techniques inspired by the group exhibition titled “Golden and Woolen Braids with Twisted Golden Cords”, hosted at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and curated by archaeologist and art historian Iris Kritikou. Jewelry, necklaces, headpieces, traditional garments, vests, and aprons—creations by contemporary artists inspired by IMMA’s permanent collection—combined with theatrical storytelling of traditional fairy tales, will be transformed into decorative crafts made from fabrics and recyclable materials in the hands of young museum lovers!

In the next stage, children will digitally explore paintings depicting the Resurrection, Spring, and Rebirth. Inspired by renowned painters, they will create mixed-media artworks (tempera and collage), developing observation skills, aesthetic awareness, and the ability to use art in designing a spring-themed poster.

The program also includes digital activities and interactive games that enhance learning and aim to entertain in a pleasant and modern way.

Our goal is for children to spend their time creatively, express themselves artistically, and connect with our traditions in a safe and enjoyable environment.

• €50 per person (3-day package)

What children should bring

• Water bottle
• Additional snack (e.g., sandwich or koulouri – NO fruits or nuts)

• Pencil case with scissors (optional, for those who prefer their own markers)
