Summer Adventures at IMMA! Summer Creative Workshops for children aged 5–11
DATES
June 16 to June 27, 2025
HOURS
08:30 – 15:30

This is an interdisciplinary educational and recreational program with multiple themed activities, which this year will focus on the themes of healthy eating and physical activity.

Each thematic unit includes creative workshops in Art and History, artistic crafts, outdoor sports games with a Physical Education teacher, digital applications, comic story creation, educational walks in the museum’s neighborhood (Port, White Tower, AMFITH Museum), and unique experiential nutrition workshops led by IMMA’s partners from the University of Macedonia and the Lions Club Thessaloniki YPATIA.

Physical activity and healthy eating are vital for the balanced development and health of children and youth. These have been identified as major goals in the fields of prevention, awareness, and quality of life by the scientific community and Greek society at large.

IMMA, within the context of its educational and social initiatives aimed at parents and children, gives priority—in alignment with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals—to raising awareness and offering hands-on learning experiences through entertaining activities. The vision is to build a community of young people who will grow into active citizens in the future.

Children will have the opportunity to:

Meet professional athletes and nutritionists

Attend interactive workshops on healthy eating

Create their own comic book heroes through special workshops

Produce crafts and original art projects

Engage with digital applications

Participate in an art workshop using special materials led by renowned artist Zefi Tiftiktzoglou

The activities will culminate in an interactive presentation of the children’s work to their parents and museum friends, during the traditional end-of-program celebration with music, dancing, and ice cream!

Due to limited spots, early registration is required. As with previous workshops, the Museum provides breakfast, a mid-morning snack, lunch snack, and all workshop materials.
