“Hunting the Green Treasure”!

Creative workshops for young and old children at the Museum of Macedonian Struggle

The Christmas Workshops of the Macedonian Struggle Museum are a festive and beloved institution for the children of the city! This year, the workshops stand out for their interactive, ecological character, in continuation of IMMA’s environmental activities that started in September 2023.

The programme of activities is guided overall by the philosophy of environmental awareness and the empowerment of children’s interaction with nature through Art, History, Literature, and Technology. Games, treasure hunts, visual arts, digital applications, folkloric customs and theatrical events are in line with the new global definition of museums by ICOM, but are also designed with the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in mind.

The workshops are addressed to 2 age groups of children a) 5-10 years old and b) 10-12 years old, aiming at raising awareness for the protection of the natural environment, strengthening the social and communication skills of children, highlighting the folklore wealth of Macedonia and entertaining children who will participate in original and enjoyable activities!

As every year, at the end of the workshops, parents and children revive the custom of Eiresioni and welcome Christmas with carols and treats!
