Invitation to the Presentation Event of the Educational Activity
“A Multilingual Story at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle”
The Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and Modern History of Macedonia (IMMA) invites you to the presentation event of the results of the educational activity “A Multilingual Story at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle.” The event will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:30 AM, following the implementation of the program from November 2024 to February 2025.
This initiative promotes accessibility and inclusion for mixed groups of hearing and deaf/hard-of-hearing children. The participants included students from the 43rd Primary School of Thessaloniki and the Special Primary School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Panorama. Through interactive workshops, visual and historical literacy games, and the use of Greek Sign Language (GSL), the children explored daily life in Macedonia at the beginning of the 20th century. The activities focused on emotional expression and empowerment, fostering creative collaboration without exclusions.
During the event, we will present the philosophy, stages, and outcomes of the program, highlighting accessibility and equal participation in education and culture. The presentation will also showcase the innovative, accessible storytelling video created collectively by the participating children. This video serves as both an educational and entertaining tool, an original creation by children, for children!
The initiative was implemented with financial support and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Greek Sign Language Center and Inclusive Lines, a company specializing in accessible educational programs.
