The IMMA Summer Workshops 2026 Have Been Completed!

This year’s summer workshops for children, organized by the IMMA, were completed with great joy and success at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, from 16 to 26 June.

For two creative weeks, the young Museum Friends got to know Thessaloniki in an experiential and enjoyable way, worked together wonderfully, and discovered the city through its history, culture, and natural environment.

Walking through the neighborhoods and landmarks of the historic city center, taking part in educational walks, theatrical play, art activities, and observation-based actions, the children came into contact with the urban and natural environment of Thessaloniki.

Their participation in these enjoyable educational activities gave them the opportunity to cultivate their environmental awareness, develop communication skills, historical literacy, cooperation, and active participation, while experiencing in practice the meaning of citizenship — discovering that the city is a living organism that belongs to all of us and that we help shape every day.

The outdoor education activities at the White Tower park and at Pier A of the Port, as well as the new friendships formed during the program, sparked particular enthusiasm. All these experiences were presented in an original musical-theatrical way at the established IMMA celebration, in the presence of parents and friends of the Museum.

The collaboration of social, educational, and cultural organizations was of special value, as they contributed to making learning a meaningful experience, open to the city, its history, and its culture.
