Memorandum of Cooperation between IHU and the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for the implementation of cultural and educational activities

A Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at promoting educational activities that focus on preserving and disseminating the memory of the struggles of Hellenism for the liberation of Macedonia—particularly the Macedonian Struggle—and on the scientific study of the modern history of Macedonia was signed on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, by the Rector of the International Hellenic University (IHU), Professor Stamatis Angelopoulos, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia (IMMA), Nikolaos K. Margaropoulos.
Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation, it was agreed, among other things, to jointly organize events (seminars, workshops, training sessions, conferences, summer schools, etc.), as well as cultural, educational, and other intellectual activities; to strengthen and support the scientific work of the Center for Research of Macedonian History and Documentation at IMMA through collaborations with the School of Social Sciences (Department of Early Childhood Education and Care, Department of Library Science, Archival Studies and Information Systems), the School of Economics and Administration (Department of Organization, Marketing and Tourism Management, Department of Business Organization and Administration), the School of Design Sciences (Department of Creative Design and Clothing, Department of Interior Architecture), and the School of Engineering (Department of Information, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering, Department of Information and Electronic Systems Engineering, Department of Production and Management Engineering).
Additionally, through the Memorandum of Cooperation, students of the University will have the opportunity to undertake internships within IMMA services, and the preparation of dissertations on topics of mutual interest is also foreseen.
Attending the event on behalf of the International Hellenic University were the Vice Rector for Finance, Planning and Development, Stelios Xanthos; the Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs, Student Welfare and Lifelong Learning, Vasiliki Vrana; the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, Panagiotis Tzionas; the Vice Rector for Internationalization, Public Relations and E-Governance, Konstantinos Diamantaras; the Chair of the Department of Organization, Marketing and Tourism Management, Panagiotis Kassianidis; and the Chair of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care, Maria Tsitouridou. Representing the public-benefit Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia were IMMA Director Athena Pavlidou and the Head of Educational Programs, Katerina Tzavara.
