These activities enrich the thematic axis “Women in children’s, young adult, and crossover literature.”

The program includes visual arts workshops with free participation for all ages and is structured as follows:

Venue:
“Alexandros Haitoglou” Multi-Purpose Hall, Museum of the Macedonian Struggle (23 Proxenou Koromila Street)

Workshop Schedule

Wednesday, April 15, 2026, 17:30–19:30
Title: “In the Land of Wounds I Find My Wings”
Description: A portrait workshop using mixed media (collage and painting) focused on the concept of “trauma.” It explores the cycle of trauma—from breakdown to healing and its transformation into maturity.
Audience: Adults
Materials participants should bring: 1–2 face images (approx. A4 size; magazine photos, prints, drawings, paintings, etc.), scissors, oil pastels
Designed & Led by: Angeliki Kourmoulaki

Saturday, April 18, 2026, 10:30–11:45
Title: “Deconstruction Collage”
Description: This workshop explores female identity by deconstructing idealized images of beauty as presented and imposed by modern standards. Faces from women’s magazines are altered, smudged with colors, stencils, and gesso, transforming them from objects of admiration into carriers of trauma. Imperfection, wear, and diversity gain value.
Audience: Ages 16+
Materials participants should bring: A positive and creative mindset
Designed & Led by: Tasia Sempsi

Saturday, April 18, 2026, 12:00–13:45
Title: “Stylization in Illustration”
Description: The first part of the workshop includes a short presentation with educational material, followed by a practical drawing session where participants will apply what they learned to create their own character.
Audience: Anyone over 16 with an interest in creativity (beginners and advanced)
Materials participants should bring: Sketchbook, pencils, eraser, colored pencils or markers
Designed & Led by: Iliana Petrisli

Wednesday, April 22, 2026, 18:00–19:45
Title: “Body – Memory – Light”
Description: Through simple artistic exercises, movement, and bodily and vocal expression, participants will approach the body as a space of memory and transformation, exploring the relationship between light and trauma, individual experience, and collective strength.
Audience: Mixed group – adults, parents, and children
Materials participants should bring: No prior experience required. Just willingness to participate. Comfortable clothing
Designed & Led by: Kaiti Makri / Katie Makri – Kirki Makri
