“The publishing and research work of the Centre for Research on Macedonian History and Documentation (KEMIT)” of the Foundation for the thirty years of its operation.

As an integral research pillar of IMMA, the KEMIT is still the main research center that collects, classifies and utilizes archival material, mainly on Macedonian and Balkan history from the 19th century to the present day. It has a rich collection of archival documents, a photographic archive, an up-to-date library and an electronic database which is constantly being enriched. Under the guidance of university and trainee researchers, the KEMIT is a reference point for scholars of modern and contemporary Macedonian and Balkan history, while at the same time it serves as a training ground for young researchers and students.
