Natalia Dragoumi – Mela (1872-1873)

Natalia Dragoumi (1872-1973), daughter of Stephanos Dragoumis and sister of Ion, was the wife of the Greek Macedonian fighter Pavlos Melas. Together they had two children, Michael (Mikis) and Zoe. Following her husband’s death, Natalia published a biography of Melas (Alexandria, 1926 & Athens, 1964), accompanied by his correspondence.

Persephone Karampati

She was born in Thessaloniki and she studied History and Museology. Between 1993 and 2015, she worked at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle as a Research Associate of ΙΜΜΑ’s Research Centre for Macedonian History and Documentation (KEMIT). In the Struggle and dilemmas publication, the author transcribed the notebooks kept by Pavlos Melas, where he recorded the preparations for the struggle and mainly the psychological preparation of the same and the Dragoumis family.
