In the context of the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, the Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia, in collaboration with the collectors George Gaitanaris and Io Dolka, as well as the Library of the Hellenic Parliament, presents visual artworks and archival material that represent, narrate and illuminate moments of the glorious Revolution of 1821.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWho started the revolution? Even today we often have the impression that someone else will come to fight our war [\u2026] The 1821 Revolution was our affair, exclusively ours\u201d, Syregos said during his speech at the opening ceremony. The President of IMMA,\u00a0<strong>Mr. Nikolaos K. Margaropoulos<\/strong>\u00a0noted:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c<em>The Foundation for the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia, aware of its responsibility, seeks both with its educational programmes and with the research-publishing work of the Centre for Research of Macedonian History and Documentation, to keep alive not only the memory of the Macedonian Struggle but of History in general. A fact of which tonight\u2019s event and the present exhibition are eloquent proof. A goal that has been achieved in the thirty-nine years of our museum\u2019s existence thanks to the undivided support of the Greek state<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The exhibition was curated by Mrs. Stavroula Mavrogeni, Deputy Professor, Director of the Centre for Research in Macedonian History and Documentation and Fani Tsatsaia, Art Historian, Director of the
