On Saturday, September 20, 2025, as part of the \u201cMeeting Points\u201d<\/em> project by Off Stream, people with and without sensory disabilities had the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, combining art, inclusion, and co-creation!<\/p>\n

Using tactile aids and with simultaneous interpretation in Greek Sign Language, participants explored in a multisensory way the work of Cypriot visual artist Paraskevi Giapani (Paskevision)<\/strong>, titled \u201cWise Gaia Highlights Free Greece\u201d<\/em> \u2014 a traditional Greek foustanella<\/strong> (pleated skirt) with 400 pleats<\/strong>, embroidered with blue and white thread on Belgian linen, which is part of IMMA\u2019s permanent collection.<\/p>\n

The artist herself attended the event and shared with participants her thoughts and experiences regarding the concept and creation of a work that conveys multiple layers of symbolism and connects historical memory and national identity with contemporary art, offering new perspectives and interpretations.<\/p>\n

The final result of the activity will serve as the basis for the creation of a universally accessible postcard<\/strong> featuring the artwork, which will be available at the museum shop and selected retail points, and will also be used as an educational tool in IMMA\u2019s educational programs.<\/p>\n

IMMA, whose main strategic goal is equal access to culture<\/strong> and the active involvement of the public<\/strong> in the design of activities, was delighted to join the Off Stream<\/em> project \u2014 a non-profit organization that develops programs with innovative methodologies, ensuring universal accessibility<\/strong> for people with sensory disabilities.<\/p>\n

The Meeting Points<\/em> program is implemented by Off Stream in collaboration with 10 museums across Greece<\/strong>, with the support of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation<\/strong> and the generous sponsorship of Alumil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
