The Architectural Heritage of Ernest Ziller in Thessaloniki

General Description

The new educational program of IMMA brings students into experiential contact with the architectural heritage and history of the city, starting from the museum’s neoclassical building, designed by Ernest Ziller (1894), and the Metropolitan Church of Saint Gregory Palamas.

Through an outdoor tour, observation of architectural elements, interdisciplinary research activities (for Middle and High School) and discovery-based games (for Kindergarten and Primary School), students become familiar with the history of the buildings and the historical context of the era.

Taking on the role of “explorers” and using technology, historical sources, and museum material, they participate in field observations and interactive applications.

The program places particular emphasis on active and collaborative learning and approaches architecture in an original and creative way, adapted to the different needs of each school level.
