The new education programme takes an interdisciplinary approach to the concepts of Memory Management and the Society of World War II Macedonia, providing students with information about local history, the search for stereotypes regarding racial differences and gender identities. The programme includes three parts. The first part is a visit and guided tour of the exhibition of the Macedonian Struggle Museum Foundation and the connection between the historical memory of the area of Thessaloniki and Macedonia and the Second World War. The second part of the event is held in the “Alexandros Haitoglou” hall of the Museum and includes an interactive tour of the exhibition from the personal collection of Konstantinos Gioulekas with war material, military uniforms, newspapers, books and everyday objects from the Second World War. The third part concerns the research that the students themselves will carry out at the Museum’s Centre of Research on Macedonian History and Documentation (KEMIT) on lists of camps, newspapers, books and films, as well as the use of this material and its transformation into an original art and writing project, which has as its theme the repercussions of the war on the people and society of Macedonia.
